Welcome to Christmas Online!
“Christmas, Christmas, Time is here.” (Alvin and the Chipmunks, 1958)
Okay, maybe it isn’t here yet but we all love to be reminded about it. I mean, why else do stores display the countdown, “x number of days until Christmas.” It’s to be helpful and remind us that in only a few short days we will be celebrating, giving and above everything else, cheerful(ing), right?
Well, I’m sure that there is probably some nefarious plan involved when it comes to the stores listing the countdown for Christmas but that’s okay. I will forgive them this time and simply enjoy everything else about Christmas. Remember, the meaning of Christmas isn’t about the stores anyways.
It’s actually about the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ and it has become a celebration of not only that holy night but also of family. It is about a renewal of faith, a reminder of family and a time to remember those in need.

Every year I look forward to the new Christmas movie releases. This year the big one seems to be Arthur Christmas. It’s the animated movie from Sony Pictures about the family that makes Christmas happen – Santa’s family, that is. I really like the looks of the movie from the trailer. I think this would [...]

One Magic Christmas is my all time favorite Christmas movie. It is about the story of a lady who has forgotten the meaning of Christmas and about the angel who must make her remember. Yes, it is a little sad at times, but overall it’s a very sweet and touching movie. It stars Mary Steenburgen [...]

Welcome to Christmas Online! continued
It can be done without bags and toys. It can be done without the latest and greatest of electronics and it can be done without the chocolates and the candy. But it can’t be done without the songs, the happy Christmas carols that warm the heart. And it can’t be done without a little fun, whether that is from wrapping, or carolling, or playing games. And most importantly, it can’t be done without others, whether they are friends and families or a community as a whole.
