Merry Christmas

Did you know: the term “Merry Christmas” first appeared in a 1699 letter written by an English admiral and the next time it showed up in writing was in 1843 in Charles Dickens’s, A Christmas Carol.

The word “merry” is derived from the Old English word myrige, which originally meant “pleasant” rather than joyous or jolly.

Merry Christmas

By Sirena Van Schaik

It is that time again, when we take the time to be a little bit nicer and smile at people as we pass them in the store or on the street. We are getting ready for that time when Santa slides down the chimney and fills our stockings with toys and other goodies. It is Christmas time and we are ready to celebrate with cheer.

For this reason, we are here to say Merry Christmas.

Two little words that mean more than it may appear that they do. We don’t wish for you a Merry Christmas alone. We wish for you a

Merry Holiday

Happiness

Family

Friends

Good Health

Good Humor

Prosperity

Peace

Love

And a day where all these things come together.

We wish for you, a Merry Christmas or a Happy Holiday that will exceed your expectations and bring you promises of a good year to come, whether you celebrate Christmas, or not, we wish for you all of these things.

So from us to you, Merry Christmas and we will say it in as many languages as we can.
